Polly the Penguin!

While studying penguins, one morning we found a letter addressed to our class hanging from the classroom door. We soon learned the letter was from Jack Frost telling us that he would soon be sending us one his penguins friends from the South Pole!

The next day she slid in on top of the refrigerator with a note saying, "Hi I'm Polly." She was also positioned near the South Pole of our globe as if she was saying, "See where I came from!"

The next day we came into the classroom to find a BIG MESS! Polly had created a tropical snowstorm on our classroom beach! Good thing Mrs. Kasper has some awesome second graders that cleaned up her mess right away!

The next day she made her way up above our windows to watch us work. She positioned herself in the pail scooping some snow.

We think Polly was getting too warm in our classroom so she turned the heat down the next day! BURR!

To make up for making us freeze, the next day she provided us with all the ingredients to make tasty ice cubes!

Mmmm! Thanks Polly!

Evidently she thought we needed yet another penguin-like treat because the next day we found her pop'n out of the penguin cracker box!

Finally, it was time for her to go back home. Jack called the school (during class!) & asked for Mrs. Kasper. He told her that he needed Polly back, but reassured her that Polly would come back to visit her classroom next year if she had another great group of students!

We really enjoyed having Polly in our classroom!
