Courthouse Visit!

During our penguin unit we were also studying government & how voting works in our country. So, Mrs. Kasper's class created a penguin ballot & invited the other 2 second grade classes in to vote for their favorite kind of penguin.

We then set up a voting booth! 

 And let everyone punch in their vote. 

At the end of the vote, we tallied the winning penguin! 

A few days later we were able to take a field trip to the local courthouse to see a REAL ballot! 

We also got to tour other important places in the courthouse!
