Flat Stanley Project

About a month ago, we read the book Flat Stanley as a class. For those of you who have never read the book, it's about a young boy who was accidentally flattened by a bulletin board is put into an envelope and mailed off to relatives. While the relatives have Flat Stanley, they take him on numerous adventures before mailing him back home. So, for this project, we each created a flat version of ourselves and mailed them off to a friend or relative within the continental United States.

After we read the book, we each created our own flat person.

Once each flat student was made, we needed to write the letter explaining this project and address the envelope to where our flat students were being sent to.

All of us with our flat people ready to be put in the envelope and mailed away!

Stuffing them (with love and care) in the envelope.

We're headed to the Post Office!

Mailing them from the 67439 zip code...

Our flat student adventures should be returning to us by the end of the coming week. When they do, each student will be making their own blog post about the adventure they had.

This project incorporates the subjects of reading, writing, social studies and art all in one! It will be SO fun to see what kind of adventures our flat students went on, so be sure to check back often!
