Pumpkin Pie Measurement

Last week we were visited by Mrs. Miller from Farm Bureau. She came in and taught us about the pumpkin life cycle and also helped us make our own tasty pumpkin pies! This lesson went right along with our measurement lesson in math.

If you'd like to make these at home, here's the recipe:

Classroom Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients Needed:
1 1/3 c. milk
1 package of vanilla instant pudding
1/2 can pumpkin
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. ginger
graham cracker crumbs
whipped topping

Other Materials Needed: 
Gallon Ziplock freezer bag
Small Ziplock bags
Small cups
Scissors
Spoons
Measuring Cups
Measuring Spoons

Steps:
1. Combine milk and pudding in the large ziplock bag
2. Remove air and ziplock it shut
3. Squeeze and kneed with hands until blended for 1 minute
4. Add pumpkin, cinnamon, and ginger
5. Remove the air and ziplock the bag shut
6. Squeeze and kneed with hands until blended for 2 minutes
7. Put one graham cracker in a small ziplock bag
8. Remove air and ziplock it shut
9. Smash the graham cracker making crumbs
10. Cut corner of graham cracker bag and pour crumbs into cups
11. Cut corner of pumpkin bag and squeeze into cups
12. Garnish with whipped topping & ENJOY!
