Museum Field Trip

On Friday we walked down to our local museum to learn more about the olden days. We've been studying past innovations and how they've impacted our lives today.


Caboose tour...



We also toured the old train depot.


Various tools used to work on the railroad.


We then experienced how school was in the older days...

Ringing the school bell to get the kids in from recess.

Learning about slates and how they were used as paper to practice skills.


Finally we discussed the importance of the wood burning stove in the winter time.


 
Then we took a look at a general store.




We also compared combines from the olden days to now.
