Anonymous Letter Writing

Yesterday we learned how to write friendly anonymous letters. First, we drew a classmate's name out of the hat.

Then we had to put up our office space to keep our writing top secret!

We filled out a graphic organizer to plan our writing. We each came up with 3 statements about ourself, then we asked 2 questions.

After the rough draft, we were ready to write the final *perfect* draft--making sure we were using proper capitalization, punctuation, spelling and word order. We made sure to use our nicest, neatest handwriting! We also focused on specific letter parts like the date, greeting, closing and signature lines.

Next, it was time to fold them up and stuff them in an envelope. As we returned from recess we found the anonymous letters on our desks ready to open!

Then it was time to figure out who wrote to who.
