Second Grade Thanksgiving Feast is Student-Made Deliciousness!

Today we enjoyed preparing our own Thanksgiving dinner at school consisting of beef and vegetable soup, fruit salad and we even had pumpkin pie for dessert! We all contributed ingredients for this meal. A big thank you goes out to our wonderful room mothers to help make this meal a success!

We started at 9:30 am and by 11:30 we were devouring our tasty meal! First, we were divided into 3 different groups, rotating between the 3 second grade classrooms. Our groups were mixed up with students from Mrs. Robson, Miss Donley and Mrs. Kasper's classes.

Here, we are preparing the beef stew in Miss Donley's Classroom. Peeling the carrots...

Adding a can of corn...

Cooking...
It smelled very delicious!

In Mrs. Robson's classroom we prepared the fruit salad. Here, we are slicing the fruit...

Yogurt being added to the fruit...

We made pumpkin pie in a bag in Mrs. Kasper's classroom. We worked together with a partner to measure, add, and mix the ingredients.

While we took turns making our own dessert, the other students copied down the recipe to take home. Sign us up to bring the pumpkin pie to Thanksgiving this year!

The school cooks so kindly baked us a pan of rolls as well.

Finally, it was time to enjoy our meal.
We are some outstanding cooks!

Here, our awesome room mothers pose with a few of our pumpkin pies.

From our classroom to yours, wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!
